Typography Survey - Number 4

In this design graphic designer Bobby Haiqalsyah used Tony Dispigna typeface as inspiration to bring more meaning to his musical poster. The designer of this beautiful calligraphy typeface is the Tony Dispigna himself. Bobby Haigalsyah idea was to create a poster that when the music conductor was leading his orchestra his wand movements were magically writing out a message for the audience in sound, in this case that message was the title of the tribute show. The purpose of this poster was to advertise a musical tribute for Queen. What got my attention was seeing how the wand movements were writing the name of a song in the air, which was the name of a song that made Queen very famous. This was very creative and the typeface was well picked for this particular design. I liked how the typeface ending strokes of several letters created curvy lines which expressed music. I found this online.

Typography Survey - Number 3

I have always been a fan of script typefaces, and just to see how the designer created a bike with type inspired me to be more creative. Its interesting to know that the designer knew that only a scripting typeface was gonna do the job for what he had in mind. A script type for this project was brilliant, because letters are connected in this form and just seeing how the letters formed the bike looks very creative and interesting.

Typography Survey

Its interesting to know that the film Titanic, which was created in 1997 has a very attractive typeface on the front cover. I found this movie on the Bement Library and decided checked it out. I had seen this movie before many times but i had never stopped to inspect the front cover. Now that I'm taking typography I tend to go back and identify typefaces on everything I'm familiar with(movies, posters,ect..) Trajan is an old-style serif typeface designed in 1989 by Carol Twombly. I have to say that i was more attracted to rent this movie by elegant and classic appearance of the Trojan typeface itself. Just by looking at the typeface i could tell that the movie was based from old historical event. Trojan seems to give that historical feeling, but at the same time it gives that elegant spark to it. The font function was to simply try to inform me about the real historical event that took place many years ago, and with its elegant appearance make me want to rent it. The quality of the typography seems to be only in caps, and if we look close the serifs tend to bring the letters closer together making easy to read at the same time.
