Typography Survey - Number 8

This design Logo was created by Robert Koritnik. Robert Koritnik has been a graphic designer for 5 years and creating logos is one of the things that he enjoys the most. This logo was created on July 21 2007, and he created this logo for an aviation company. The main purpose of the logo was to advertise the new company and to invite others and let them know that aviation classes are also being offered. I find this design very attractive and very creative for several reasons. First, the company name is SkyLark, and the designer used a lark bird as an illustration which reflects what the company does with out even looking at the logo text. Its very interesting that the bird illustration has a shadow but it is not the shadow of a bird, instead it is the shadow of air plane which makes the logo stand out by its creativity and imagination. The size of the bird and its position tends to get my attention a lot which is the first thing that pops out(point of emphasis). After the illustration the text "SkyLark" is written with Trajan, a very elegant typeface. Trajan is serif typeface designed in 1989 by Carol Twombly for Adobe. Trajan design is based on Roman square capitals which is an ancient Roman form of writing. Its interesting to find that the designer Robert Koritnik used the Trajan typeface for his logo, perfect way to add elegant text on his logo!! I find the design very attractive, creative, clean, simple, and describes 100% what the company does. Great logo and use of typeface.
